Somebody mentioned that they would like to see the boat picture brightened in color... so I tried... what do you think? Is it too much? Or not enough?
I also tried another vintage look on a picture that I took last week, but had not posted yet.

Colors are so subjective. I think anything that changes the image dramatically that's not an artistic change like acid wash or BnW, is just too much. The other thing to remember is that all monitors display images differently. the best thing to do is to edit and then sent to a lab to compare print-wise. If your pics look great printed, to me...that's most important.

I love your second picture of the tree with all the textures but I really have to say the sooc is cool too. My opinion on photoshop is to do what you like. Others will give you suggestions but what really matters is whether you like it or not.

I love the reflection of that tree. As for color, I agree that it's very subjective. I like the textures and conversion you did on the tree shot. And I don't think you overdid it on the boat shot. It's a great photo!
I love the tree. I cant give alot of cc becasue I am learning also, but if you love it, thats what should count. I think the tree photos are wonderful.

Cool tree shot! Love the reflection, and the conversion gives it a completely different look. On the boat picture, the blue in the boat looks a little too popped compared to the rest of the photo. I guess I like the original better (nice, huh, since I'm the one who suggested brightening it--sorry!)
I love the color and reflection in the first one. The edited version is great, but the SOOC somehow really stands out to me! Great job.
