Just a regular day at home for the cats......




They start to get along fine now!! This would not have happened with Isis. Spotje (on the left) would not be this close to her, she would have run to the other room, so this is major progress with this little guy who has only been here for 2.5 weeks!)

Our little guy has some skin issues..... to treat this we have to bath hime twice a week. He does not like this, so we're trying which way is the easiest. Put him in the bathtub, or in the sink.
This is kinda how it looks like....

First we have to get him wet and shampoo him....


then it has to soak for 10 minutes, so we wrap him in a towel and cuddle.....


then we have to rinse him off and hope he does not escape, LOL!


and then he looks like this and runs around to dry!

We went to the festival of lights today and I have some very cool pictures!

I was not trying for this effect, but I really love how it came out. I guess you could say I was Panning!

I have not told you all this.... but our sweet kitten Isis ran away a little while back and was hit and killed by a car. I will post some favourite pictures in the future... right now it hurts too much to look at them.

We miss her a lot and decided that we wanted to adopt a new kitten. When we saw a female kitten online on one of the shelter websites, we thought this was a sign. She looked a lot like Isis and the description sounded like a cat with personality!!

We went to the shelter, but the little girl was disappointingly not what we were looking for...... but.............................................


this little guy stole our hearts right away!!



He was playing in the kittensroom and when we opened the door he was chasing a bigger black kitten. All the other kittens were sleeping in their kennels, except these two. They were running around and having a blast! My husband was smitten with him right away. When he picked him up, the little guy started purring loudly and fell asleep in his arms. And that was it..... he came home with us and it's as if he has always been here. He is social with the other cats and loving towards us.


So let me introduce you to "jochie" (little guy in dutch, since I have no name for him yet!)

Everybody who has cats will now that having the couch for yourself is not gonna happen, so when I was reading a book on the couch this evening, it did not take long for Spotje to join me and make herself comfortable!!

We have snow!!!! Yes that's reason to yell over here in south texas..... the last time was four years ago on christmas eve. Now we have snow in the beginning of december! Love it!Not the greatest pictures, but considering the circumstances.... very cold (for south texas then, I guess I'm spoiled and not used to this any more) and wet and dark I'm satisfied with the result!

Couple more from our trip to the zoo.... we alked around for 4.5 hours and I took so many pictures. For some reason the pictures inside were better than the ones outside, surprise for me, because it's usually the other way around.

Houston Zoo offers free entrance on most holidays and the day after thanksgiving.... so what's a better (and much more fun!) way to get all the fat off than walking around the zoo for a day!! We were at the zoo 8:50am and there was already a line! After waiting for 15 minutes we were inside.

Of course I took a lot of pictures and here are a few of my favourites!!

I started taking pictures of one of these lizzards in the water before I discovered this on in the tree. I had to take this picture... love the composition and color of it!

And sometimes you press the button at the right moment.....

This leopard was so sweet, you would almost take it home as a pet.... almost!
