A couple more insects from the nature park....

I don't have a macro lens so these are all taken with my P&S. I still love the way they look and also the sharpness of the images.

Today a little bit of abstract art! Trying my hands on "fill the fram" and "looking at things in a different light" Can you tell I'm reading Bryan Peterson's "learning to see creatively"?

Trying to get my spark back... so went to take pictures at sunset. I'm not really satisfied with the results, but it's a start!

I had to go to Galveston to get some stuff for our kitties (our vet is still on Galveston). And thought I could take some pictures of Galveston also..... that turned out to be a lot harder. I was not really prepared for what I saw..... brown. Everything is brown either from debris or from dead nature. It was horrible! And for some reason I could not take pictures. I completely closed up. I took a couple from the car, but nothing special. I will go back, because it's also part of my time here in Texas.

First one: remember this house:
It's still standing but all the beautiful trees are brown and dead!

Piles of debris are everywhere... this was one of the better views. And this was when you leave the island... instead of a green field it's a garbage pile!

Still some more pictures from sunday!!
I'm reading a book by Brian Peterson to get some of my creativity back... and I was showing my husband the photos in the book just before we went to the nature park. Apparently it did spark his creativity... so here are a couple of his tries!

Some more flower pictures from the nature park.... It really feels as if since the storm nature has started all over again. It feels like spring... not autumn!
So to show it's autumn, what do we do in Texas... just put up a pumpkin!

Today we went back to the nature park for the first time after hurricane Ike. They had no damage on the buildings in the park, but a lot of the trees were down. We also saw hardly any spiders, but on the other hand the frogs and alligator were still there. We decided to take the prairie trial because most of the other trials were not open.... it felt like spring. Wherever you looked you saw these yellow flowers. Beautiful!!

To get back to the themes for POTD, I also included two pictures of the pathes... which also showe some of the damage, trees that had fallen.

One of the funniest traits of having an Egyptian Mao breed cat is the fact that they play "Fetch". Everyday when I'm at home Isis brings me her playmouse and I have to throw it as hard as I can. Then she runs after it and brings it back to me. This carries on for 5 or 6 times and then she's done until a couple of hours later she brings me the mouse again. She only does it when she starts, so no throwing when it's convenient to me or my husband!! Oh and if she can choose... she will chose my husband because I'm a lousy mouse thrower!!!!

I'm going to be boring again.... For some reason I don't have much inspiration to take pictures... so some more of my two cats sleeping cosy together! And of course as soon as I start taking pictures Isis is up and standing guard next to her big friend Snoepie.

Later that afternoon I was greeted by a loud sound and found Isis jumping the door to catch a fly (on the outside of the door!!)
